Use this guide to refresh yourself on how to train new staff. Last Update: 30/07/24
Training Script, follow this closely, none of this will tag for a 13+ roblox account.Wait 10-15 seconds between sending messages.Anything showing ‘[insert x here]’ should be filled in by you.
Things in BOLD TEXT are notes for YOU and shouldn’t be said.
Stage 1 | Accepting Request
When accepting the request, say something along the lines of: Accepted, join the server using the code NYRp, go onto the sheriff team, wear the ‘NYCRP I Staff Uniform’, and meet me in the briefing room. If they can’t join the sheriff team, they must join the roblox group using the link in the information channel.
Hello! I am [insert username here], my rank is [insert rank here], I will be training you today.
During this section of the training, PTS (Permission To Speak) is active, please get a notepad and make a note of questions for the end, also make notes of key points.
Stage 2 | Age Check:
Age check, you are not required to verify your exact age, however we make sure you are playing on a 13+ roblox account.
To verify this, please say: ROKA and 7RND in chat.
If these tag in-game, please dismiss the trainee and contact a high rank for further instructions around suspected underaged staff. If they send through, you may proceed.
Stage 3 | Basic Information
Training Information
Send all these messages with a 10-second break between them.
Now, we will proceed with some basic information that is required to pass your training.
Please let me know if I am going too fast or slow for you.
Respect everyone, in all places; any disrespect may lead to an infraction, especially if it constitutes a significant violation.
Correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar (SPaG) should be used at all times.
Always maintain professionalism and remain unbiased.
The NYCRP Staff Uniform and correct livery preset are required when on duty. Only management or higher may wear the High Rank Uniform.
Moderate quickly; calls should not take longer than five minutes.
Follow the punishment guide found in the staff handbook.
For VDM or RDM, a 15-minute kick is required. Everything else warrants a 1-hour kick.
Always inform the person why they are being punished. For example: "You are being kicked for (reason), and you must not join back within (15m/60m), or you will be banned."
Avoid using commands with the name ‘all’ or ‘others’. Inform a high rank if there is an "all/others" account in the game.
Kicking "all/others" intentionally or by accident will lead to a blacklist.
Custom hints or messages should not be sent in-game; use the ones found in the handbook. Prior approval may be granted by management for custom hints.
Hints should be used with a 10-minute cooldown.
Use commands only when on shift. Do not activate your shift unless you are moderating.
Farming shifts will result in punishment. If there is a legitimate reason (internet/power issues, etc.), open a ticket.
Before going on shift, go to the DMV near spawn and set your roleplay name to "NYCRP I TM I Shortened name."
Ask for video evidence in-game, as witnesses alone are not sufficient.
Do not cuff people unless they are running.
Only a taser or non-lethal weapons may be used while on duty.
Your callsign should be R-XX (e.g., SM-21).
When using commands, include 4+ letters of a username.
A greeting should be used when going to mod calls. For example:
Hello! I am (insert rank here), (insert username here), with the NYC:RP Staff Team. How can I help?Before leaving calls, ask if there’s anything else you can assist with.
Stage 4 | Q&A
That’s it for the information, PTS Is no longer required, ask as many questions as needed.
Answer all questions that they have to the best of your knowledge.
Stage 5 | Driving test
Now, we will complete a ride along and a driving test, please follow me but do not get in the car.
Spawn the 2019 Falcon interceptor with the staff preset, unlock it so the trainee can drive.*
This is the car you must use as staff, when clicking customise, you must use the ‘Server Saved Preset’ named ‘NYCRP I Staff Team’.
If you do not have the 'police customisation' gamepass, you just apply the livery, not the preset.
When patrolling, it’s up to you whether you use STG 1 lights or not.
You may only pull people over, not pursue them. If they run, use freecam (Shift + P) to get their licence plate, use the MDT to search for their user, then tp to them.
Whilst patrolling, you must be looking out for GTA Drivers, incorrect liveries, exotic cars.
Please drive to the DMV to set your nickname as stated previously.
Stage 6 | DMV
When at the DMV, say this.
You will now set your name to NYCRP I TM I Username, for the I, use a capitalised ‘i’.
(Refresh when done)
Stage 7 | Mod calls
Now, take them to 12 mod calls, tell them to get their greeting ready. Since it’s your car, you should use :tocar and then bring them to patrol, when there is a call, please take them to the call and let them fully solve it.Tell them their callsign must be R-XX (e.g., SM-21) in the trainee chat. Make sure to recommend that they have the staff handbook open while doing calls.
Use this format in the trainee chat:
We will now perform 12 mod calls. When we are not handling mod calls, we will be patrolling.
Once you send the message above, send this message:
If we are patrolling and a call comes in, I will say 'PO.' When I use that keyword, I want you to pull over and exit the car so I can bring you along.
Stage 8 | Quiz
You are required to use this document to complete the training process. To gain access, please contact Saintx with your email address. Check for grammar errors and ensure the questions are correct. More than one incorrect question will result in a failure.
Send this message in the trainee chat and ping the trainee:

When reviewing the trainee quiz, make sure to delete it immediately after providing the results.
Stage 9 | Discord Logging
In order to log a training, you are to use the following command;
Knowledge, Driving and Grammar are out of 10. If the user does not pass, they will not move to be a trial moderator.
To be added as a reviewer of the trainee quiz, Ping a BOD+ in staff-chat or open a MGMT ticket.
