Staff Rules
While you remain as a staff member for NYC:RP, you must abide by all these rules. | Last Updated 03/01/2025 3:51am AEST
1.0 Commands
Use 4+ letters of username when using commands.
The “m” and “h” command has a 15-minute cooldown. You can ONLY use messages from the game message channel, no others.
Do not use commands on people with the users "all" or "others." Instead, inform an admin or higher that there is someone with the username "all" or "others" in the game. That person is likely trying to get you to use a command like "kick all" or similar. Use the command /erlc membercheck and get the user’s Roblox ID. And request a ban immediately.
When moderating, you must not cuff users or :wanted them off of teams unnecessarily, only cuff them when they are evading you.
Before kicking or banning someone, tell them why they are being kicked and for how long they can’t rejoin after the punishment. You may also PM the user explaining their punishment. You are not required to do this when the user has commited Mass RDM or VDM. If you are a moderator, you must instantly kick the user and set up a ban BOLO to avoid them from causing more chaos. If you are an Admin, you may instantly ban the user for MRDM/MVDM. Otherwise, you are required to tell the user where they have the ability to appeal.
No matter the circumstances, you are not permitted to use any commands off duty without permission from SHR (Board of Directors)
Only people with the “Commands off duty” can use commands off duty. You can only refresh (yourself), load (yourself) and PM.
You are not permitted to go on duty solely to punish someone. For example, if you witness RDM (Random Deathmatch) while off duty, you cannot go on duty just to kick them and then go offline.
You may not use the :time or :weather commands without Management+ permissions
Familiarize yourself on all moderation commands and the ERM dashboard.
2.0 Greeting & Name Format
You have to introduce yourself. An example of a proper introduction is:
You should go to the DMV on a public server. Whilst there, change your display name to ‘NYCRP I R I Name’ R - Your 1-5 letter rank (Moderator - M, Administrator - A, etc.
Before teleporting away from a call, please make sure to ask something along the lines of ‘Anything else I can help with?’
If they require no further assistance, please say something along the lines of 'Have a good roleplay!'
3.0 Punishments & logging
Log all warnings, kicks, and bans on the Melonly dashboard.
Always explain the reason for the punishment.
Before banning someone you must tell them they can appeal the ban in the discord server.
Listen to both parties' explanations before making punishment.
4.0 Evidence & Shifts
:killlogs/:kl isn’t proof, cars on fire or with tires out are also not proof of VDM as it doesn’t show who did it.
You must always investigate the situation fully and ensure you have valid proof. You are not permitted to punish someone for defending themselves.
Only videos and screenshots count as proof. If the user who called mod has no proof, tell him you can’t do anything.
You can only start your shift if there are more than 10 players in-game, and being AFK without being on break also counts as shift farming.
You are required to check Game Reports while you are on shift. Ignoring game reports can lead to infractions.
5.0 Patrolling & Cars/Uniform
The correct staff uniform and livery on duty is required. (Use the Preset on the staff car)
Ensure your car is parked properly in a designated parking lot before responding to any calls.
Patrol the area when there are no active calls, and address any cars left unattended on the road. Use the MDT to look up the vehicle's license plate to identify the owner. If it belongs to FD, PD, or any other department, check for their call sign. Contact them and instruct them to move their vehicle. If they refuse, take appropriate action, such as kicking them.
While online as staff, you cannot wear any vest or equipment that covers the staff uniform, arms, or legs. The staff uniform must remain fully visible at all times.
You are to monitor and keep safe zones clear of all issues such as; RDM, VDM, burning cars, and random bodies. Example Below.
Seasonal liveries are clearly marked with the holiday name, you may ONLY use the preset on this car, if you don't have the gamepass, don't use it.
You must follow every traffic law at all times while on-duty.
6.0 Mod calls & Assistance
You must not take any side in moderation scenarios. You MUST remain neutral at all times. Failure to follow this rule will result in suspension.
You must fully assist them with their call making sure all users have a say.
Ensure that each mod call takes no more than 5 minutes.
If you respond to a call at the same time as someone, we suggest letting the lower rank take it so they get more experience than the higher rank, although if the lower rank doesn't want to then the higher rank may take it. If equal in rank, simply decide amongst yourselves but don’t waste time doing so.
If there’s a backup call in the Discord server and you're in-game, you must respond. Leaving to avoid it will result in disciplinary action.
7.0 Grammar & Language/Respect
Use grammar (Spelling, Capital Letters, Punctuations, Basic grammar).
No Inappropriate Language. (Swearing, NSFW, Racism etc.)
Respect is expected from everyone, (members and staff). Disrespect will not be tolerated, whether in-game or on Discord. Additionally, swearing is not allowed.
Please welcome new staff members and other new members.
Listen to your superiors or higher-ups.
8.0 Guns & Game/Discord Rules
You are not allowed to use a gun on duty, this looks unprofessional and there’s more professional ways to stop a vehicle.
Following both in-game and Discord rules is mandatory at all times. Breaking in-game rules will result in punishment. You cannot enforce rules while breaking them.
You are not allowed to use any banned guns or booster guns. Only the Beretta is permitted if you are not an active booster.
9.0 Booster Checking
You are to run a Vehicle Check to check which vehicles are being used by people without rules.
Before moderating vehicles, run a Member Check on Melonly to see if they are a booster.
Failure to follow this will result in moderation. Our boosters are supporting us.
Boosters bypass the hour kick and should only receive 15-minute kicks.
10.0 Staff Polls
This a requirement for all Staff Members.
1. If a Staff Poll is sent out, there will be two reactions placed on it, a tick, and a cross. 2. You are expected to react to one of them, tick if you are available, cross if you are unavailable. 3. Additionally, if you react, you cannot unreact, this will result in a termination.
11.0 Promotion Requirements
You are to follow all rules in the staff documentation.
You are to provide quality to your work.
You are to have no previous punishments in the last week.
You must exceed the quota, doing the minimum isn't enough for promotion.
12. Major Scenes
You are allowed to refresh yourself if you get killed and have a UGC vest, but you may not heal yourself more than 3 times. This only applies during major scenes.
Kick anyone who is shooting neutral teams. Ban if it exceeds 5 times.
13. Sessions
Only the Board of Directors and the Founders team have permission to host sessions. However, you may shut sessions down only if there are fewer than 20 people in-game and only with permission from the Board of Directors or higher.
